TEHRAN (IQNA) – A photo exhibition mounted in Pretoria, South Africa showcasing works on peaceful coexistence of different religions in Iran.

The Iranian Cultural Center in South African organized the expo at the city’s Rasuli Center, according to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.

The photos featured different aspects of how followers of other faiths have lived side by side with Muslims in the country for centuries.

The history of religious minorities’ presence in Iran, the privileges that followers of religions other than Islam enjoy in Iran and their presence in different social fields in the country were displayed in the photos.

Religious minorities enjoy a favorable position in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Under the Iranian Constitution, the recognized religious minorities have the right to elect parliamentary representatives of their own.
