Iraqi Quranic Delegation Leaves for Iran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A delegation of Quran activists from Iraq left the Arab country for Iran to take part in the Islamic Republic’s upcoming international Quran competitions.

Iran’s 34th International Holy Quran Competition will officially kick off in the capital of Tehran with the participation of over 270 Quran activists from 83 countries.

There will also be four other international Quranic events for school students, seminary students, women and the visually-impaired.

Members of the Iraqi delegation will attend the contest as contenders and members of the panel of judges.

The delegation is led by Sayyid Ammar al-Mousawi, an official with the National Center for Quranic Sciences affiliated to Iraq’s Shia Awqaf Department.

Sheikh Khairudding al-Hadi, Sheikh Maitham Tammar and Sheikh Mahmoud al-Karkhi will also join the delegation in Iran later to serve as members of the competitions’ panel of judges.
