According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Ali Asghar Ameri, the Iranian cultural attaché in Bosnia, discussed the Ramadan programs of the center in a meeting with Hasan Makic, the Mufti of Bihac.

Ameri stressed that one of the objectives of Iranian cultural centers in other countries is to make efforts for strengthening Muslims unity.

He also briefly explained the center’s activities and the programs planned for the holy month of Ramadan.

Mounting Quran exhibitions, organizing Tawasheeh performances, and holding Quranic sessions with the participation of Iranian Quran reciters and memorizers will be among the programs to be held in Ramadan, he said.

The Mulla Sadra Foundation and the Islamic Society Organization will cooperate with the center in holding the programs in three cities of the Eastern European country.

The Bosnian mufti, for his part, expressed willingness to cooperate with the cultural center in holding the Quran exhibition in the holy month of Ramadan.

Ramadan, the ninth month in the Islamic lunar calendar, starts on May 27 this year.

During Ramadan, Muslims fast as an effective way of practicing self-discipline. They are also expected to strengthen their character through self-restraint, charitable-giving and introspection.

Reading and contemplating the Holy Quran is also a major activity for Muslims during the holy month.
