Tehran Province Quran Contest Slated for July 28

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The provincial stage of Iran’s 41st national Quran competition in Tehran will be held from July 28 to August 1.

  

More than 260 men and women will take part in the Quranic event, competing in two separate sections.

There will be 130 women and 138 men attending the contest.

The Imamzadeh Jafar and Hamideh Khatoun holy shrines in Baghj Feyz, west of the capital will host the competitions for men and women respectively.

Top winners of different categories will represent the province in the national Quran competition.

The central city of Arak, 300 kilometers south of Tehran, will play host to the national stage in October.

The categories of the competition include Quran recitation, Tafseer (interpretation), memorization of the Quran (different levels), Adhan (call to prayers), and memorization of Hadith.
