Imam Ali (AS) Dar-ol-Quran Center’s Quran Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 11th nationwide Quran competition organized by the Imam Ali (AS) Dar-ol-Quran Center got underway in the Iranian holy city of Qom on Saturday.

 

The first section of the contest is for women and has been attended by 5,300 Quran memorizers and reciters from different parts of the country.

Also attending are 217 women and girls from Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Lebanon and India.

They compete in the categories of Quran recitation, Tarteel recitation, and memorization (at three levels).

The Allameh Tabatabaei Dar-ol-Quran Center in Qom will host the closing ceremony on Friday.

A number of senior clerics and Quranic officials are expected to take part at the closing event.
