Students Quran Contest Underway in Bahrain

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 46th national Quran and Sunnah competition for students in Bahrain began in the Arab country on Monday.

According to Akhbar Alkaleej website, Bahrain’s education ministry has organized the event in cooperation with the Awqaf and Islamic affairs ministry.

Students from 63 public and private schools have taken part in the competition.

It has several categories including recitation, memorization and interpretation of the Quran.

The competition has been held annually since 1975.

It aims to promote memorization of the Quran and learning the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Bahrainis is an island country in the Persian Gulf. Islam is the state religion in Bahrain.
