Tunisia Bans Using Quran in Commercials

TEHRAN (IQNA) –  Tunisia issued a ban on using the Quran and Hadiths for commercial purposes.

 

According to Rasid news website, the Supreme Council of Media said using Quranic verses and Hadith in radio and TV commercials is prohibited.

The decision has been made in order to prevent misuse of religious content in commercials.

The council also banned advertising for fundraising.

Tunisia is a North African country bordering the Mediterranean Sea and Sahara Desert.

Islam is the official state religion in Tunisia. Approximately 99 percent of the population of the country is Muslim.
