A new book titled "Religion and the Order of Nature" by renowned Iranian Islamic researcher professor Sayyed Hossein Nasr has been recently published. Nasr is professor of Islamic studies at George Washington University. The book includes chapters: religion and religions, the order of nature, philosophy and its errors, traditional science, the scientific revolution and its aftermaths, regrettable outcomes of humanism in the West, recovering nature: religion and the environmental crisis, the wisdom of body and resanctifying nature.
According to the book, most human beings, whether directly or indirectly involved in damaging the environment, are still living under a religion-based worldview. Therefore, the role of religion in resolving the crisis between man and nature is crucial.
A part of the book says: "The earth is now suffering. Human beings that are no longer attached to the heaven and so are involved in a constant struggle with nature damage the earth. Both those who have created a technology that can ruin the nature at a large scale and those who still live in a traditional religious world, have desanctified the nature and are leading the world towards complete ruin, although the ways they contribute to damaging the earth are different in quality and quantity."
