-- Culture Ministry’s deputy for Quranic affairs said that 22 Quranic festivals will be held at the national and international levels.
Speaking at a press conference at the Iranian Quran News Agency, Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Mohammadi said that the festivals’ themes would be art and literature.
The first festival is to commence on the occasion of birthday anniversary of Hazrat Zahra (SA) which also marks the birth anniversary of Imam Khomeini (R.A.), he noted.
Quranic poetry (in Arabic and Azeri languages), software, Quranic press (or manifestation of Quranic teachings in the press), Ibtihal, prayers and Azan, Tawasheeh, choral recitation, theater, Quranic themes in visual arts, and Quranic Bluetooth messages are among the themes of the 22 festivals.
“This year is the 1400th anniversary of the revelation of the holy Quran. It has been named the year of the Quran in Turkey and we have also plans to hold Quranic programs on the occasion,” Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi stated.
He said that significant efforts have been made in the Islamic Republic of Iran in the fields of Quranic education, recitation, Tajweed, concepts and interpretation. “Today, due to these efforts, the Quranic atmosphere in the country not only is different from pre-revolution era but also differs from the early years after the victory of the revolution.”
Head of the Center for Coordination, Development and Promotion of Quranic Activities stressed that more efforts need to be made to present Quranic concepts to the youth through the medium of art, adding that a comprehensive view is required to coordinate these efforts.
