Rights of Muslim Women to Be Discussed in Brunei

International Conference on Rights of Muslim Women in the Modern World is going to be held on 11th & 12th April 2012, in Rizqun International Hotel, Bandar Seri Begawan.
Faculty of Shariah and Law of Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University will organize the conference in order to facilitate a dialogue to discuss and deliberate on the issues of Muslim women’s rights in the contemporary social order. It also seeks to provide scholars, clerics, academicians, experts and interested parties a forum to express and share their views through their research findings on various rights of the Muslim women. Finally, the function aims to identify the challenges faced by Muslim women and to brainstorm possible solutions to those challenges.
Social rights of Muslim women (marriage, divorce, gender equality), Economic rights of Muslim women (property rights, succession and inheritance, business rights, employment rights), Political rights of Muslim women (freedom of Expression, freedom of participation), Education rights of Muslim women and any other rights of Muslim women are reported to be high on the agenda at the conference.
