Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Mohammadi, who is also the director of the exhibition, said the gathering would be attended by President Mahmud Ahmadinejad.
“Some 3,000 Quran activist will attend the event, during which the president is to honor a number of the country’s Quran servants,” he said, inviting all those interested in Quranic affairs to take part in the program.
Referring to the 19th edition of the exhibition, he said it would be open from 2 p.m. until midnight on holidays. “On other days, the exhibition will welcome the visitors from 5 p.m.”
He noted that there would be 30 main sections at this year’s exhibit. “There are some new sections included in this year’s event, such as the Quran-based Modification of Humanities, the Islamic Awakening, and the Conceptual Arts sections.”
Head of the Center for Coordination, Development and Promotion of Quranic Activities further said that 10,000 square meters of space has been added to the exhibition’s venue, bringing the total area of the exhibition to 100,000 square meters.
“The Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition is the greatest Quranic event in the Islamic world, which involves the cooperation of some 100 governmental and non-governmental organizations,” he underlined.
Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi went on to say that during the holy month of Ramadan 300 other exhibitions will be held at the provincial level in other cities of the country.
The 19th International Quran Exhibition is to open in Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla (prayer hall) on July 28.
