Praising the Quranic activities implemented by the Education Ministry in schools across the country, Tehran’s interim Friday prayer leader said more such efforts should be made to promote the Quran in schools.
Addressing worshippers at Tehran University Campus on Friday, April 27, Ayatollah Kazem Sediqi also highlighted the need for changes in the ministries of Education and Science, Research and Technology.
“The plan for adopting the changes, drafted by the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution, has been approved by the Supreme Leader and the society awaits its implementation,” he said.
Elsewhere in his sermon, Ayatollah Sediqi referred to the West’s economic pressures against Iran, saying “We are in an economic war today. The society should stand up [against these pressures] and through development of national production and labor achieve victory in this war.”
Pointing to the recent nuclear talks in Istanbul with the G5+1 (permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany), Tehran’s interim Friday prayer leader said the talks demonstrated the Iranian nation’s resistance, unity, solidarity and devotion to Velayat. “The world has come to realize that the Iranian nation is determined to defend their rights.”
On the situation in Bahrain, Ayatollah Sediqi said despite the news boycott and the silence of international organizations, the oppressed people of Bahrain showed so much resistance that numerous statements have been issued in support of the people’s uprising.
He further praised the status and role of teachers and laborers in society on the eve of the Teachers’ Day and Labor Day.
In his first sermon, the senior cleric elaborated on the great status and character of the beloved daughter of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), Hazrat Zahra (SA).
