Egypt Closes Unauthorized Quran Printing Center

A Quran printing center has been closed down by authorities in Egypt for printing Quran copies without acquiring the needed permission.
According to Al-Dastoor daily, the director of the center, named Dar-ul-Safva, has also been arrested.
2590 unauthorized copies of the Quran were confiscated from the center, directed by Muhammad Ahmed Aghl Rizvan.
Egypt’s Deputy Interior Minister Osama Al-Saqir has ordered Cairo’s security forces to hand over Rizvan to the prosecutor’s office for investigation.
Quran printing in Egypt requires permission from Al-Azhar Islamic Studies Center.
Egypt prints over 60 percent of all Quran copies in the world. Recently, there have been reports of Quran copies containing misspellings and errors printed in the country.
