Book Fair on Nabawi Seerah Underway in Islamabad

TEHRAN (IQNA) - A book exhibition titled “Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH)” has been mounted by the Iranian Cultural Center and Imam Sadeq (AS) Institute in Islamabad, Pakistan.


According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the exhibition was openedat the institute on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Imam Ja’far Sadeq (AS) on January 9.



“The Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Islamic Unity” is the main theme of the exhibited books in Persian, English and Urdu.



Dissemination of the culture of book-reading and introduction of books on Muslims unity, Nabawi Seerah and Hadith sources are the main objectives of the exhibition.



The opening ceremony of the book fair was addressed by Ahmad Navvab Mirza, director of the institute’s library, who introduced activities of the institute and stressed the importance of developing book-reading culture among the younger generation.



Also speaking at the program, was Ghasem Moradi, who is in charge of Iranian Cultural Center in Islamabad.



He highlighted the important role of books in development of human societies and the status of libraries in dissemination of book reading and promotion of research. 



In an interview with SAHAR TV channel, the Iranian official said that the library of Imam Sadeq (AS) Institute has always been a pioneer in dissemination of book-reading culture and organization of cultural and religious programs.



Referring to the verse No.103 of Surah Al-e ‘Imran, which says “wa'tasimu bihablillahi jami'an wa la tafarraqu (And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided)”, Moradi expressed hope that organization of such cultural and religious exhibitions in Islamabad will strengthen unity among Shia and Sunni Muslims of the region.



He added that Imam Khomeini (RA), founder of the Islamic revolution, named the period from the 12th to the 17th of Rabee’ Al-Awal month “The Week of Unity” and so taught the Muslim world the lesson of brotherhood and unity.



Moradi stressed that if Muslims become united, security will be established and plots of the enemies of Islam and Muslims will be nullified.
