Quran Competition at Imam Ali (AS) Dar-Quran Center Begins

TEHRAN (IQNA) - The 8th edition of the nationwide Quran competition organized by Imam Ali (AS) Dar-ol-Quran Center started among the male participants on January 28 in Tehran.


The Sarcheshmeh Cultural Complex hosted the opening ceremony of the Quranic event attended by Iranian Quran experts, Quran memorizers, Qaris and eminent Quran activists.

The ceremony was addressed by Mahdi Qarasheikhlu, head of Dar-ol-Quran Al-Karim Organization and Morteza Najafi Qudsi, in charge of Imam Ali (AS) Dar-ol-Quran Center.

Mohammadreza Purzargari, internationally known Iranian Qari, recited some verses of Surah Israa and Surah Kahf at the beginning of the program.

It was continued with a speech delivered by Najafi Qudsi, who said that the competition has been welcomed all over the country and 2400 men and women registered to participate at the national competition.

He noted that the organizers have provided the opportunity for all Quran activists at different age groups to compete at a national level.

Even tens of Afghan, Iraqi and Nigerian residents from among foreigners in the holy city of Qom have participated at the competition, he added.

Also addressing the ceremony, head of the Dar-ol-Quran Organization said that the competition and Quranic activities of Imam Ali A(S) Dar-ol-Quran Center are only supported by charitable people.

He then recited the message of the Grand Ayatollah Ja’far Sobhani to the program.
