“Islam’s Jesus” Public Lecture at Niagara University

TEHRAN (IQNA) - Islamic studies expert Zeki Saritoprak, Ph.D., will examine the place of Jesus in the Quran and Hadith during a public lecture at Niagara University on Wednesday.

The presentation titled "Islam's Jesus," takes place at 3 p.m. in Dunleavy Hall, Room 127. It is being organized by the university's department of Middle Eastern and Islamic studies.
"Dr. Saritoprak's talk will address the place of Jesus in Islamic theology and discuss how the image of Jesus in both Islam and Christianity can serve as a common ground and open a way for constructive dialogue," said Dr. Mustafa Gökçek, associate professor of history at NU.
Saritoprak has held the Nursi Chair in Islamic Studies at John Carroll University since 2003. He holds a Ph.D. in Islamic theology from the University of Marmara in Turkey. His dissertation, which examines the personification of evil in the Islamic tradition, is titled "The Antichrist (al-Dajjal) in Islamic Theology." It was published in Turkish in Istanbul in 1992.
Saritoprak is the author of more than 30 academic articles and encyclopedia entries on topics in Islam.
