Nat’l Quran Competition Underway in Tabriz

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 37th National Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran is going on in the northwestern city of Tabriz.

On Friday, finalists of the memorization of 20 Juzes (parts) category ended their competition, IQNA’s correspondent reports.
Javad Delfani from Tehran, Mohammad Reza Ahmadi from Qom, Reza Golshahi from Khorasan Razavi, Rasoul Azmayeshi from East Azarbaijan, Reza Hassanshahi from Fars, Mohammad Angoshtbeh from Bushehr and Mojtaba Mohseni from Mazandaran were vying for the top rank in this category today.
The jury panel is expected to announce the three top winners of this category in a short time.
The final stage of the competition in Tarteel recitation of the Quran also concludes on Friday.
The national Quranic event kicked off in Tabriz on Wednesday and will run until Monday .
Top Quran reciters and memorizers from across the country competing in different categories of the contest.
A number of programs are also held on the sidelines of the national Quran competition, including an exhibition of Quranic, religious and cultural products.
There are also Quran recitation sessions in the host city and a number of nearby cities and towns with the participation of prominent Iranian and Egyptian Quran reciters.
A number of seminars including “Allameh Tabatabaei and Quran” and “Shahriar and Quran” will also be held in Tabriz during the Quranic event.
