According to the information website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), Alireza Esma’ili, Iranian cultural attaché in Spain gifted more than 100 books to the new center's library.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the new center, ‘Alaeddin Najaf, director of the public relations and international affairs of the institute, said that the main objective of the branch is disseminating proximity of different religions and developing human virtues, dialogue and mutual respect.
Musa Osam, director of the new branch of the institute, also said that establishment of the center was impossible without the Spanish government’s support.
Also speaking in this respect was Rikardo Garsia, Director General of Religious Affairs at the Judiciary of Spain, who noted that all branches of the institute in various parts of the world have taken positive steps towards promoting dialogue among followers of different religions, cultures and have developed peaceful coexistence.
The ceremony was also addressed by a representative of Spain’s Organization of Bishops, Kamal Halwa, head of Arab Journalists and Authors Association in Spain, Muhammad Ka’bun, imam of a Mosque in Madrid and Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Ali Al-Husseini, representative of Grand Ayatollah Sistani in Moscow.
