Jordan's Int’l Quran Competition to Conclude Monday

TEHRAN (IQNA) - The 23rd edition of the international Quran memorization, recitation and interpretation competition in Jordan will conclude on the 26th of the holy month of Ramadan (July 13).

 According to Al-Dastoor newspaper, the closing ceremony of the competition will be organized by the country's Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs at a major mosque in Amman, the capital city.

This edition of the competition for men began on the 21st of the holy month of Ramadan (July 8).

Representatives of 27 countries competed in memorization of the entire Quran along with interpretation, memorization of 20 Juzes (parts) along with recitation and memorization of 10 Juzes along with recitation.

Muhammad Reza Ahmadi, memorizer of the entire Quran, represented Iran in this edition of the Quranic event.

During the holy month of Ramadan, the ninth month in the Islamic Hijri calendar, various Quranic programs, such as competitions, are held across the Muslim world to help the faithful benefit more from the spiritual blessings of this month.
