TEHRAN (IQNA) –An international exhibition was opened on August 17 in Kabul, Afghanistan, on the occasion of the Ten-day Karamat Celebrations that mark the birth anniversaries of Imam Reza (AS) and Hazrat Masoumeh (SA).

According to avapress.com, various written works, photos and artworks displayed at the exhibition feature the life and Seerah of the 8th infallible Imam and his sister, Hazrat Masoumeh (SA).

Hadith Silsilat Al-Dhahab (golden chain), letter to Imam Reza (AS), respect for parents in Imam Reza’s (AS) view and the Imam’s (AS) holy shrine are some of the themes of the works.

Abbas Hassanzadeh, the head of the Supreme Quranic Council in Afghanistan, said that one of the main objectives of the exhibition is to get the younger generation more acquainted with the Seerah and teachings of the infallible Imam (AS).

The Ten-day Karamat Celebrations begin with the birth anniversary of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA) and end with the birth anniversary of Imam Reza (AS) (from the 1st till the 11th of Dhu al-Qa’dah, which this year fall on August 16-26).

Speaking in the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Naser Jahanshahi, the Iranian cultural attaché in Kabul, noted that the auspicious occasion is celebrated in 70 countries.

He added that commemorating religious occasions such as this provides an opportunity to revive the teachings of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) in society.

The international exhibition will be underway for five days from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time.
