Moscow Int’l Quran Contest to Conclude Tonight

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The final stage of the 16th edition of Moscow International Holy Quran Competition will be held tonight, October 11, in the Russian capital city.


Crocus City Hall in Moscow has been hosting the competition of 44 countries' Quran memorizers since October 9.





From among 6 Quran memorizers who made it to the final stage, three with best performance will be selected as the winners of this edition of the competition.





The previous editions of the international event were attended by representatives of 30 to 35 countries, but this year the number rose to 44.





Quran memorizers from Romania, Bulgaria, Finland, England, Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei as well as the Middle East countries compete in the 16th edition.





Quran experts from Jordan, Russia, Brunei, Egypt and Yemen form the panel of judges.





The first to the third rank winners will be respectively awarded 10000, 7000 and 3000 US Dollars.





The youngest participant in the competition is Bilal Abdul Khaliquv from the Russian Republic of Dagestan.





Musa Mutamedi is representing the Islamic Republic of Iran in the contest.





Born in 1988 in the holy city of Qom, 150 km south of Tehran, Motamedi came second in the memorization of the entire Quran category of the national Quran competition in 2013.
