TEHRAN (IQNA) - Secretary of the international conference on “Quran in Imam Khomeini’s (RA) Seerah and Thought” stressed that the Quranic character of Imam Khomeini (RA) should be introduced to the world.

Hojat-ol-islam Mohammad Ali Khosrawi said that Imam Khomeini reached great achievements in an international level in the revival of Islam so his political character has been highlighted, while his thoughts and character in Quranic aspects have not been well introduced to the world.

That is why Ali Jannati, minister of Islamic Culture and Guidance, suggested the organization of the conference last year, he added.

Khosrawi noted that the late founder of the Islamic revolution was also a Quran researcher and interpreter who spared no efforts in preventing the Divine Book from being neglected.

He said that the secretariat of the conference received more than 600 papers from Iran and 55 papers from 35 other countries in Hindi, French, Turkish, Chinese and Swahili languages.

Noting that Quran does not belong to any specific generation or limited to any specific time and that the Quranic teachings can be applied in different aspects of life, he said that Imam Khomeini (RA) could realize Quranic justice in his social life, and Quranic morality manifested in his individual life.

The imam was the origin of development in the Islamic society so the noble thoughts of the great pious scholar should be introduced to the world, he added.

The capital city’s Milad Tower hosted the international scholarly event on November 1, which was attended by scholars and thinkers from different countries.

A number of senior Iranian officials and figures, including Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Hassan Khomieni, Hojat-ol-Islam Majid Ansari, and Ali Jannati took part in the opening ceremony.

The ministries of Education, Science, Research and Technology, and Sports and Youths Affairs, as well as the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), University Jihad (Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research), Islamic Azad University, Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Assembly, World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, and Al-Mustafa International University cooperated in holding the conference.
