Austrian President Visits Iran’s Pavilion at Vienna Int’l Book Fair

TEHRAN (IQNA) – During his visit to the 15th edition of international book exhibition in Vienna, the president of Austria was also the guest of the Iranian publishers’ pavilion.

According to the Institute of Iranian Cultural Fairs, Heinz Fischer paid a visit to the pavilion and got acquainted with the activities of Iranian publications on the last day of the exhibition.


Referring to the artworks by eminent Iranian artist Mahmoud Farshchian showcased in the pavilion, Fischer described them as being among the most precious and interesting artworks in the contemporary era.


He stressed that the participation of Iran in the exhibition provided an opportunity for Austrians to know about the Iranian culture, arts and civilization.


He also referred to his recent travel to Tehran and considered the rich cultural potentials of Iran as an important factor in developing and strengthening cultural relations between the two countries.


A book titled "Iran, the Land of Peace among Divine Religions'” was gifted to the Austrian president by the Iranian side.


It was the third time that Iranian representatives attended the book exhibition.


The 15th Vienna International Book Fair opened on November 12 and concluded on November 15.
