Quran and Hadith Calligraphy Exhibition Held in Karbala

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An exhibition of calligraphic works of the Holy Quran’s verses and Nabawi Hadiths was organized in Bain al-Haramain (between Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine and the holy shrine of Hazrat Abbas (AS)) in the holy city of Karbala.


According to the website of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine, the artworks by more than 30 Iraqi calligraphers were presented at the exhibition which was well received by a large number of pilgrims.

Faras Khuzair Jalil, director of Calligraphers’ Association in Iraq, said that the exhibition was held in cooperation with the Astan.

For the first time more than 50 tableaus by young Iraqi artists were put on display at the exhibition, he added.

He said that the Quranic verses and Hadiths of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the infallibles (AS) were calligraphed and illuminated on different materials and decorated with frames of wood, stone, etc.
