People across Iran Celebrate Islamic Revolution Anniversary

TEHRAN (IQNA) – People all over the Islamic Republic of Iran participated in rallies on Thursday to celebrate the 37th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution‘s victory.
The rallies were held in cities and towns across the country to commemorate the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

In the capital, Tehran, millions of people were present in the demonstrations to remember February 11, 1979 and the sacrifices made during the Revolution.

Iranian officials, including President Hassan Rouhani and Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani, also joined the Thursday rallies.

More than 450 foreign guests from 28 countries, including scientific, political, and influential figures from the European, African, Asian, and American countries have travelled to Iran to witness the event.

Over 5200 cameramen and journalists from Iran and other countries cover the massive rallies.

The nationwide rallies mark the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, led by late Imam Khomeini, which put an end to the monarchical rule of the US-backed Pahlavi regime.

On February 11, 1979, the monarchy of the Pahlavi regime in Iran was overthrown after months of public unrest and protest.
