The Thursday rallies were held in cities and towns across the country to commemorate the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

The 1979 Islamic Revolution, led by late Imam Khomeini, put an end to the monarchical rule of the US-backed Pahlavi regime.

Elsewhere in his sermon, Hojat-ol-Islam Sediqi underlined that Iranians will also show a massive turnout in the upcoming elections.

The parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections will be held in Iran on February 26.
