Speaking to IQNA on the 5th anniversary of Bahrain’s revolution, Ali Al-Faez referred to verse 7 of Surah Muhammad (PBUH) "O you who have believed, if you support Allah, He will support you and plant firmly your feet,” and said the situation in Bahrain shows that God’s promise is about to be fulfilled.
The victory of Bahraini people is a sure thing as long as the nation remains committed to its beliefs and faith and as long as it remains vigilant against the plots hatched by the hegemonic powers, he said.
He underlined that the Bahraini people have gone through many problems and difficulties on the path of revolution in order to get their demands.
"We rose up (against the Manama regime’s tyranny) based on our religious and human responsibility,” Al-Faez said.
He said Bahrainis believe in the promise of God and have no expectations from the international community or Western governments.
Bahrain, a close ally of the US in the Persian Gulf region, has been witnessing almost daily protests against the ruling Al Khalifa dynasty since the uprising began on February 14, 2011.
The Manama regime, meanwhile, has used heavy-handed measures in an attempt to crush the demonstrations.
Scores of Bahrainis have been killed and hundreds of others injured and arrested in the ongoing crackdown on the peaceful demonstrations.
Troops from Saudi Arabia have been also deployed to Bahrain to assist in its crackdown on the peaceful protesters.
