Interfaith Dialogue Planned in Baku

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Iranian Cultural Center in Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan, will organize an interfaith dialogue with the participation of Iranian and Azerbaijani scholars.

According to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the Caucasian Muslims Office will cooperate in holding the forum.

The organization of the program was discussed in a meeting of Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman, head of ICRO, with Kamal Abdullayev, Azerbaijan’s State Adviser in Inter-ethnic, Multicultural and Religious Affairs.

Referring to the peaceful coexistence of religious minorities in Iran and the presence of their representatives in the Islamic Consultative Assembly (the parliament), Torkaman underlined that the Islamic Republic of Iran respects the rights of all religious minorities.

He also said that ICRO has organized various academic conferences and dialogues among representatives of different religions in countries such as Myanmar, Italy, and France.

The Azerbaijani official, for his part, stressed the necessity of boosting mutual cooperation in religious and cultural fields.

He said that the Office for Religious Minorities in Azerbaijan is ready to cooperate with the Iranian Cultural Center in holding the dialogue.
