TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Iranian holy city of Qom hosted the 12th International Conference on Mahdism (Mahdaviat) Doctrine on May 19-20.

Attended by scholars and thinkers from different countries, the conference discussed, among other things, the prophecies in the three Abrahamic religions (Islam, Christianity and Judaism) about the End of Time.

‘Apocalyptic prophecies from the perspective of the Abrahamic religions’ was the main theme of the event this year.

A number of senior Qom seminary figures, including grand Ayatollahs Nasser Makarem Shirazi and Jafar Sobhani addressed the conference.

The participants underlined in the final statement that the belief in the Savior is a sublime inter-religious belief that has unique potentials to open new horizons for humanity today.

This belief is not one of the ways, but the only way for the world to get out of darknesses and deadends, they stressed.
