TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quran radio station will be launched in Dubai on the first day of holy month of Ramadan.

The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Centre announced the launch of the new Quran radio station 'Dubai Radio for Quran' on Monday.

According to KTimes, the Dubai Radio for Quran will air at a frequency of 91.4 FM across UAE with the official moon sighting that marks the beginning of Ramadan.

The station will broadcast a mix of programs including daily Quran recitations, Quran and Hadith interpretations and other programs that will assist residents in understanding fasting and the core principles of Islam.

"We aim to spread good and kindness and remind people of the Quran teachings. The best way to do that is through broadcast media," Abdullah Hamdan bin Dalmouk, the center’s CEO said.

Under the directive of Shaikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, the radio station coincided with the launch of the center’s third edition of 'Huboub Al Khair' (breezes of benevolence) initiative. The radio station will broadcast lectures from the Huboub Al Khair initiative.

Established in 2014, Huboub Al Khair conducts a series of lectures after Tarawih prayers to educate community members about social and religious topics.

Scholars and clerics from inside and outside UAE will give 70 lectures in mosques across the UAE that target all segments of the society.

Lectures this year will focus on the best ways to benefit from fasting, to achieve inner peace, and promote good behavior.

In Dubai, Emirati reciters will join Mohammed Hassan Al Shaikh mosque after tarawih prayers during the first week of Ramadan in addition to an Emirati reciter's program that will be hosted by Al Warq'a Grand mosque during the month.

Other mosques include: Salam bint Butti Al Qubaisi Mosque in Al Ain, Abu Baker Al Sideeq Mosque in Hatta, Ahmed bin Hanbal Mosque in Sharjah, Dar Al Bir Mosque in Dibba Al Hosn, Amna bint Ahmed Al Ghurair Mosque in Ajman, Shaikh Zayed Mosque in Umm Al Quwain, Shaikh Zayed Mosque in Ras Al Khaimah and Armed Forces Martyrs' Mosque in Fujairah.

Ibrahim Abdul Rahim, director of events at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Centre, said number of attendees over the past two years "was great and we expect the number to increase this year."

He added: "Our choice of mosques took into account the numbers we are expecting to attend. We are confident this will result in a great benefit to numerous families and individuals."
