Scholar Holding Quran Interpretation Sessions in Ghana
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Ghanaian Shia scholar has been holding Quran interpretation sessions since the beginning of Ramadan.
Sheikh Abdul Mumin Alim’s Quran sessions are held in the country’s northern city of Tamale, according to the Iranian cultural center in the West African nation.
They will continue until the end of the holy month of Ramadan and broadcast on a local radio.
Out of Ghana’s approximately 20 million people, Muslims constitute 3 million, representing 16 percent of the population.
Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic Hijri calendar. This year, it began on Tuesday, June 7.
During Ramadan, Muslims all over the world fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.
They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.
