The competition, held in memorization, and Tarteel and Tajweed recitation of the Holy Quran, had started last Thursday.
Quran activists from 10 countries, including Somalia, Uganda, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya and the Comoros Islands took part in the contest, IINA reported.
Representatives of Kenya, and Sudan won the top titles in the international Quranic event.
Addressing the closing ceremony on Monday, Djiboutian Prime Minister Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed highlighted his government’s support for Quranic activities and said the competition helps to promote the level of Quran memorization.
Initiated by president of Djibouti Ismail Omar Guelleh, the competition has been held in Djibouti since 1999.
Djibouti is a small country on the Horn of Africa with a population of approximately 400,000.
