The rallies were held to reiterate support for the cause of Palestine, show solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians, and condemn atrocities committed by the Zionist regime of Israel.
In Tehran, the Iranian capital, hundreds of thousands of people attended the rallies and shouted slogans in support of Palestine.
Their slogans also included "Death to Israel”, "Death to America”, and "Israel and Daesh, Allies in Killing Muslims”.
The international Quds Day rallies were also held in 850 other cities and towns in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The demonstrators underlined that the time has come for the UN to respond to the cries for justice by millions of Palestinian refugees who have been expelled from their homeland by the Zionist regime.
They sought to communicate to the world the deplorable status of the Palestinians and press the Israeli regime to respect Palestinian rights.
The ralliers also set the flags of the Zionist regime of Israel and the US, the Tel Aviv regime’s main supporter, on fire.
The International Quds Day is annually held on the last Friday of the holy Muslim month of Ramadan.
The day is also seen as the legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini (RA), who officially declared the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as International Quds Day back in 1979.
