Asghar Amirnia said 10 provinces of the country hosted the expos during the holy month.
Ramadan, the 9th month in the lunar Hijri calendar, fell on June 7-July 6 this year.
In Ramadan, Muslims around the world fast from sunrise to sunset and devote more time to Quranic activities, including reading and contemplating the Quran.
Organizing Quran exhibitions is common in Iran during the holy month.
The largest Quranic event in the country, namely Tehran International Quran Exhibition, is held in Ramadan.
This year, the capital city’s Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (prayer hall) hosted the expo, which had millions of visitors.
Amirnia further said that more than 1000 Quran contemplation sessions as well as 117 expert forums featuring Quran and Etrat issues were held at the 47 exhibitions during Ramadan.
There were also Quran recitation sessions, Quran and Nahj al-Balagha competitions and Ramadan festivals in provinces like Qom, Isfahan, Kerman, Markazi and Zanjan, he went on to say.
