TEHRAN (IQNA) – The fourth edition of a regional Quran competition for Northern European countries will start in the Swedish capital on Friday.

The Imam Ali (AS) Islamic Center of Stockholm will host the event, which will start at 7 P.M. local time.

92 contestants from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland will compete in the Quranic event.

Quran recitation, Tarteel, memorization, Azan (call to prayers) and Quranic concepts are the categories of the contest.

5 Quran experts from Denmark, Germany, Iran, Sweden and the Netherlands make up the event’s panel of judges.

Seyed Mohammad Javad Mousavi Dorchei from Iran, Seyed Yahya Hosseini from Denmark and Hassan Sadeqi Shouredeli from Germany have been selected as judges in the regional Quran contest.

The other two members of the panel are Rahmatollah Bayat from Sweden and Ali Javad from the Netherlands.

According to organizers, the competition is aimed at promoting the Quranic culture and teachings, identifying Quranic talents, and enhancing unity among the Quranic community in Northern Europe.

It will also serve as a venue for Quran reciters and memorizers to exchange their Quranic experiences.

Winners of the regional competition will qualify to represent their country in next year’s edition of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s international Quran contest.
