According to al-Alam news network, regime forces attacked the protesters in several areas.

In the northwestern village of Diraz, people continued their sit-in protest in front of the home of Bahraini Shia leader Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassem for the eighth consecutive day.

They underscored their solidarity with the Shia leader and their resolve to stand against the ruling regime’s moves against religious figures.

Bahraini authorities stripped Sheikh Qassem of his nationality in late June.

The regime has jailed tens of clerics and scholars on baseless charges.

Anti-regime protesters have staged numerous demonstrations in Bahrain on an almost daily basis since February 14, 2011, calling on the Al Khalifah regime to relinquish power.

Scores of people have been killed and hundreds of others injured or arrested in Manama’s crackdown on the anti-regime activists.
