Quran Competition for Women Underway in Libya

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 4th edition of a Quran memorization and recitation competition for women has been organizedin Libya.

Women’s Quran Competition Kicks Off in Libya

According to Al-Wasat website, the "Mahjat-ol-Bayza” Cultural-Educational Association of Gharyan city in the northwestern Libya is hosting the competition.

293 memorizers and reciters of Quran from 45 Quran memorization centers of the region have participated in the Quranic event.

The female Quran activists compete on memorization of the entire Quran, memorization of a quarter of Quran, 15 Juzes (parts), the last 5, 3 and 2 Juzes, and memorization of the 30th Juz and the 60th Hizb of the Quran.

Head of the association said that the competition is organized for various groups including girls under 18 as well as housewives.

The 5-day competition is supervised by a group of Quran experts headed by Sheikh Muhammad Al-Kilani.
