Northern Iranian City to Host Nat’l Quran Contest
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 39th edition of Iran’s National Holy Quran Competition will kick off in the northern city of Rasht, Gilan province, on October 17, an official said.
Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mostafa Hosseini, head of the Quranic Affairs Center of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, said efforts have been made to best hold the annual Quranic event.
He added that while the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization is responsible for holding Quran contests in Iran, other governmental bodies as well as grassroots organizations also contribute to organizing the events.
Every year, a province of the country hosts the national Quran competition, which is attended by top Quran activists from various provinces.
This year’s contest will be hosted by Rasht on October 17-23.
