Muharram Mourning Rituals in Semnan
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Shia Muslims across the world, including here in the Iranian city of Semnan, 180 kilometers east of the capital, Tehran, attend mourning rituals to commemorate Muharram, a month in the lunar Hijri calendar when Imam Hussein (AS) and his faithful companions were martyred in the Battle of Karbala in the year 680 AD.
