Al-Aqsa Mosque Hosts Graduation Ceremony of 200 Quran Memorizers

According to Al-Jazeera.net website, they had taken Quran memorization courses held by the education department of Al-Aqsa Mosque’s custodianship.

The ceremony was organized by the Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf Islamic Affairs and Holy Places after Zuhr (noon) prayers on Thursday.

Addressing the event, Najih Bakirat, director of the ministry’s education department, said the courses on Quran memorization and Tajweed have been held since three years ago,

He said that 700 Quran learners took the courses at three levels this year and the 200 memorizers honored at the ceremony were the first group of learners completing the program successfully.

Bakirat went on to say that at a time when the Zionist settlers repeatedly storm al-Aqsa and the Tel Aviv regime prevents Muslims from entering the mosque under various pretexts, the Quranic programs are aimed at strengthening the presence of Muslims at the mosque.
