Ashura Conference Held in Austria
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A conference on Ashura was organized on October 30 in Vienna, Austria.
The event was held by a group of the youth affiliated to Turkey’s Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) Assembly in cooperation with the Imam Ali (AS) Islamic Center.
The Mozaik Hall in the Austrian capital city hosted the conference from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time.
The program included speeches, passion plays, and elegy recitations.
A book exhibition was also held on the sideline of the conference.
The On4 TV channel of Turkey broadcast the conference live.
Ashura, the tenth day of the month of Muharram in the lunar Hijri calendar, marks the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions in the 68 AD Battle of Karbala.
