Mashhad to Host “Shajara Tuba” Course on Islam and Women

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The holy city of Mashhad will host the 7th edition of an educational Islamic course titled “Shajara Tuba” in early 2017.


According to the Information Office of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the international course will be organized by ICRO.

Sediqeh Hejazi, director general of ICRO’s Department for Women and Family’s Affairs, said that the program will be attended by female scholars from different parts of the Muslim world.

Women’s rights in Islam, woman in Quranic verses and Hadiths, Quranic and Islamic lifestyle with an emphasis on the role of media, analysis of human and women’s rights, women and multiple roles (challenges-approaches), analysis of Hijabophobia in the West, comparative analysis of the status and duties of women in Divine religions and materialistic schools of thought, and woman in the mirror of resistance are some of the themes of the course, she said.

Hejazi added that the course will be instructed in Arabic.

Pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), meeting with the custodian of the Astan Quds Razavi and visits to workshops, historical and religious places, Mashhad women’s park and educational centers are also planned for the participants.

The Secretariat of "Mashhad as the Capital of Islamic Culture in 2017” Plan, governorate of Khorasan Razavi Province, Mashhad Municipality, representative of Al-Mustafa International University and Narjes Seminary will cooperate in holding the program.
