Speaking to IQNA, Sheik Muhammad Nimr Zaghmout described the plan as yet another page in the Zionist regime’s anti-Islamism and its attempts to erase the Islamic identity of Palestinians.
He said Israel uses a step-by-step approach to achieve its ominous objective, which is full dominance on Palestine.
One step is removing the Islamic identity and beliefs of Muslims that has been started by the ban on Adhan, the head of Palestine Islamic Councils said.
Asked about the role of Muslim bodies like the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and Arab League on countering such moves, he described these organizations as dead and said the Arab League member states do not make a move against the interests of Israel and the United States.
Sheikh Zaghmout stressed that Palestinians should not rely on these organizations because they are led by Washington and Tel Aviv.
Israeli MPs have recently proposed a piece of legislation to ban Adhan.
It has been proposed by Moti Yogev, an Israeli legislator from an extremist Zionist political party. The text of the proposed bill alleges that Israelis "suffer” from the "noise.”
The Muslim call to prayers is broadcast at mosques throughout the Muslim world by reciters.
Elsewhere in the interview, Sheikh Zaghmout criticized some Palestinian groups for compromising and conceding to such Israeli moves, saying they try to justify the Zionist enemy’s measures in some way.
He went on to say that the Palestinian nation will move on the path of resistance and liberation of Quds and al-Aqsa Mosque and will definitely be victorious.
