The Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia was officially opened in 1998. It is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s tourist belt amidst the lush greenery of Perdana Botanical Gardens and within walking distance to the National Mosque, Bird Park and National Planetarium.

With an area of 30,000 square meters, the museum is the largest museum of Islamic arts in South East Asia with more than seven thousand artifacts and artworks from the Islamic world.

Those from Iran include Quran copies calligraphed by prominent Iranian artists like Yaqut Mustasimi (died 1298), Ahmad Neirizi and others as well as gold, silver and ceramic artifacts.
