They have been appointed by Anoushirvan Mohseni-Bandpey, the head of Iran’s Welfare Organization, which will hold the contest in cooperation with the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization.
The first edition of the international Quranic was organized in the Iranian capital of Tehran in May, concurrent with the country’s 33rd annual international Quran competition.
It was held in the category of memorizers of the entire Quran for men only.
The international Quranic event brought together participants from different Muslim and non-Muslim countries.
Representatives from Iran, Turkey and Tunisia finished in first to third places, respectively.
The second edition of the international Quran competition for the visually-impaired is slated for May 2017.
