According to Babawa News, Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa said interpretation of the Quran and understanding Quranic concepts will be among the criteria for judging the contenders in the next edition of Egypt’s international Quran competition.
He also said that the awards for top participants have been raised for this year’s Quranic event.
Gomaa said winners of the first to third ranks will receive cash prizes of 40,000 to 150,000 Egyptian pounds.
He noted that this year’s international contest is scheduled to kick off on April 8.
The minister also said that on the sidelines of the international event, a Quran competition for the physically challenged will be organized at the national level.
