Hojat-ol-Islam Ahmad Sharafkhani, the organization’s cultural and social deputy, said the plan is on the agenda given the instructions of Leader of the Islamic Revolution on the need for training 10 million Quran memorizers in the country.

He noted that in the past four years, 1.35 million individuals across Iran memorized parts of the Holy Book by taking Quranic courses held by the organization.

Hojat-ol-Islam Sharafkhani said when the organization announced its commitment four years ago to training 1.3 million memorizers, it seemed a difficult task at first but due to people’s interest in learning the Quran by heart, the organization achieved more than what it had planned.

Extensive plans for training Quran memorizers were launched in 2012 after Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed the need for further promoting memorization of the Holy Book.
