Islamic Unity Among Most Important Virtues
Addressing a forum on "Unity of Ummah” om Bangalore, India, on Friday, Ayatollah Araki referred to verse 29 of Surah al-Fat’h "Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves,” and said discord and conflicts among Muslims are among the biggest vices.
He regretted that today some so-called Muslims seek friendship with the Zionist regime and the US and encourage Muslims to fight with their fellow Muslims.
He referred to the establishment of the WFPIST by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, saying it aims to materialize a return to the true Islamic identity, that is, Islamic unity.
Ayatollah Araki also stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always stressed the need for Islamic resistance as areligious duty.
On Thursday, Ayatollah Araki attended a seminar titled "Islamic Unity and Strategies for Creating Unity” in Mumbai.
In an address to the seminar, attended by Sunni and Shia scholars, he said unity and Islamic proximity have become the main current in the Muslim world thanks to the efforts made by Muslim world scholars who favor unity.
