Fighting Oppressors Not Just by Sword
Speaking in a meeting with a number of Iranian religious poets on Thursday, the Leader said hailed the progress of religious poetry and called for using the Islamic teachings in poems.
Ayatollah Khamenei added that there are many sublime concepts in religious supplications, especially in the Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh, that can enrich religious poems.
The Leader also stressed the responsibility of religious poets to promote the Islamic style of life now that the West seeks to change the lifestyle of people in non-Western countries, especially the Islamic Iran.
The onslaught on the Islamic lifestyle is aimed at creating a movement that suits the Western apparatuses, Ayatollah Khamenei noted, saying that in order to counter this onslaught, it is necessary that the elements of Islamic lifestyle be defined and explained in different ways, including via poetry.
Elsewhere, the Leader said that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the Infallible Imams (AS) all stood up against oppression, Kufr (disbelief), hypocrisy and corruption and, therefore, those who truly follow the path of the Prophet (PBUH) and Imams (AS) should also fight against these phenomena.
