TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 28th edition of a Quran and Hadith competition for the youth of the member states of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council concluded on Thursday.

Winners of the contest in different categories were awarded at the closing ceremony held at Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat, Oman.

A number of senior Omani officials were present at the ceremony, al-Watan daily reported.

Representatives of Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait competed in the Quranic event, which had started on February 26.

The contest was held for three age groups of 11 to 16, 17 to 20 and 21 to 25.

The regional Quran and Hadith competition for the youth is annually hosted by one of the six Arab countries of the Persian Gulf.
